Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
Seem to remember that a few of you are drummers, I've been scouting around for an older kit for the lad and got let down after winning 1 the other night, they claimed bits were missing so I wouldnt want it. Anyway got a Fusion Kit lined up and tbh it could be the bargain of the year.

There's always something just a bit more expensive than youve got though, and in this case it happens to be a kit that someone has, doesnt want, but doesn't realise what they have I don't think. The guy wants £250 and it looks in good condition but I'm gonna try drive him down as I think from investigative work that what he in fact has is one of these in the same colour and from the year that HE died....

The lad saw it and said "I WANT THAT" well he can have the other and THAT will get flogged across the ocean or something.

I had proper classical percussion lessons in school, and loved it, but the guitar was a lot more household friendly. Love the drums still, but the guitar was the more convenient option.

Out back in a shed that will cost more than the drums with all the insulation/soundproofing etc, will be MY new hiding place though.
*checks wifi range & orders gas heater.

I bought a kit off gum tree for £40 last Christmas, there's bargains to be had in the second hand market at this time of year. It's a full kit, bass, snare, 3 toms, high hat, a crash and a ride, and a stool, plus all the hardware. They even delivered it.

£250 should buy you a decent kit second hand, swerve the new student models as they lose money as soon as you've bought it.

I'm onto the arl ones mate, better quality and sound, doing away with the need to move up from a modern beginners one later. The Keith Moon gold one will get an increased offer soon, it's not on ebay so it'll be sms haggling. I reckon that would be well worth the £250 but I dont wanna spend that though when as you say lots go for less than £100, location is key cos they are too big to post.

If it was £150 then the lad would be sat behind it on xmas morn and The Moonatics would be formed, and Football Wizard would be on youtube by new year, see if I get them ALL playing something then all those songs I come up with would be posted as finished articles.

What was the one you bought btw ?

Have you see it first-hand Reidy or just pics...the shells could be warped, rusty hardware etc.

I've not but it's not ebay it's a classified ad, so wouldnt be forking out before seeing.

The one that will be going for buttons the bloke reckons is fine, chrome needs cleaning up but he says no rust & reckons is fine, never look spon new but as good as it did when he stored it away 12 years ago. At the end of the day a 10 y.o. kid that thinks he's Animal/Moon/The Gorilla and Cozy Powell is gonna bash lumps out of it with bits of wood.

'Spon'........ actually comes from the Welsh phrase 'Newydd sbon' which means brand new.

Carry on.

Finally * I've got him a kit. A Wine Red (Hmmmm, I know, he is gonna bash **** out of it though) Premier Olympic for the princely sum of FIFTY FIVE BRITISH POUNDS AND AN ADDITIONAL SINGLE PENNY.
About 4 years old and he says he bought it to use it in a show then put it away again as he had no more use for it. Cymbals, stands, stool, sticks the lot.
£437 looking online. Now I need some neoprene to make silencers, I want a cartoon face of the sewer rat etc on them so he can hit the teeth.
Silencers £45 a pack, the same neoprene that they are made of.... about £6 for the same amount.

I'm gonna whittle him some sticks from an arl brush handle as well.

*Obv. been here before and then didn't actually get it.

£55 - sounds like a bona fidè bargain

DONT FORGET THE PENNY FFS.

Indeed, went to collect them earlier from Southport and they are in fantastic condition. Apparently they have some entertainment business of some type, they went to do a show in London and the drummers kit had been left behind, so they went out and bought this for the show. Total use : 3hrs max. he reckons.

Absolute Steal tbh. and more Burgundy than red in fact it's almost like that flip paint as from some angles it kinda fades to black . They got it cos they reckoned it was the best colour there for under lights.
