Confirmed. Say what you want about him, but he was a truly magnificent player on his day. As a Blue, I will never forget his winner in that 3-2 game at Goodison. There's videos of it on Youtube if you're a masochist.

I'll be glad to see the back of him.

At times I've thought he was the biggest [Poor language removed] in football, with his play-acting, complaining etc but on his day he was absolutely unplayable, the best striker in the game for me when he could be arsed. The complete forward.

Like him tbh and always have done. I like evil players like him. Just no love in his eyes when he's on the pitch. Absolutely brilliant. An older Balotelli.

Of it I thought he was a gent. Seemed like a nice guy on the Graham Norton show!

Great competitior. All the stuff about diving is mostly sour grapes. And as that link above shows, a good egg off the pitch..unlike most footy players who lock themselves in their mansions and dont give a fcuk.

Loved the player, a great asset to the Premier League. In his pomp, the most technically gifted power striker in world football. Simply put, he was a winner. Yes, he dived around but he did it to win free kicks and gain territory - it's using your brain in the modern era and I wished a few more of our players did it.

He'd still do a job for anyone. He'll have many, many offers to deal with.

What I particularly love about Drogba is that he mercilessly showed the world what an uber-tit Alan Hansen is. Drogba took a season to settle in the Prem and had a few off colour moments. Every week on MOTD Hansen would be blaring on about him not being good enough, not top quality etc. And Drogba then showed us season after season what a quality forward he is and Hansen all of a sudden shushed up...

That's up there with "you'll never win anything with kids" and his proclomations on MOTD this season that Liverpool would finish above Everton. A know nothing tit, get off our screens and stop taking a handsome slice of license fee funded cash for the privelege of talking out of yer hole.

So yes, back on topic, Drogba, I salute you. Fancy joining Everton for a season?
