i like your optimism, every time i see your cheeky grin on your cheeky avatar i think ` there goes my gloomy mood, heres a cooker post to cheer me up`

Its on everyones mind mate. He's only here on loan. Why should he sign a pre-contract in January when he can wait 6 months and see what other offers arrive off the back of his performances. If a team in Europe or with better prospects offers him a deal, what could we do? We wouldn't get a penny. The next 9 months is like an audition for him, which from our point of view is great because he'll be determined to impress and prove he's a top quality player, worthy of playing for the likes of Madrid at the highest level.

He could be our player of the season, but then again, come May i'd be very surprised if he was to sign a contract here in the light of inevitably better offers (ambition and financially speaking). Best case scenario, he has an up and down season, becomes a fan favourite and favours staying here as opposed to a move to one of the lesser leagues.

Cooka......unlucky mate, 4 - 0, and Charlie Adams is a dog. b)

Just watching the goals again tonight, I realised how much Drenthe's goal is like Trevor Steven's strike against Bayern. Not only do they look similar (though Drenthe finished with the wrong foot...sell him FFS), but both were late goals down the same end, to take a 3-1 lead after being 1-0 down!
Me arl' fella said the same thing when he saw it this morning.
