If he commits some of the fouls that he does as a winger, at right back, then we would be very vunerable to alot of penos and close free kicks. Dont get me wrong i like him, if he can improve his tackling he would be ace at RB, but at the moment his tackling is to bad for a defender

Nani
Valencia
Mata
Young
Bale
Walcott

Defenders have to defend first, and midfielders have to cover their defender. Drenthe doesn't work back hard enough for my liking, maybe a dose of watching Pienaar will inspire him to up his game.

Although he hasn't got to grips with coming back down the pitch to help out the defence, he did seem more aware of his duties on Saturday. Maybe that's where he'll start to get a little better at it.

I really disagree with comments about Drenthe not working back hard enough, he is irresponsible at times, loses concentration, but his work rate for me is tremendous, I dont think a lack of effort is an issue with him at all.

He works forwards like a demon, but his covering back and pressing opponents without the ball (marking!) seems to be something he feels above. Effort forwards, bit dozy/lazy backwards. And saturday we played an average Blackpool side.

He is a right back by trade, but because of his pace and confidence on the ball Moyes saw fit to promote him to the next position up the pitch.
Moyes doesn't see playing someone further up the pitch as a promotion. Probably doesn't trust him at right back so he's demoted him to wide attacking midfielder*

*WAM I might patent that.

He needs more game time period ... to make a call on either position. If for RM - he needs to do more than dribble into oblivion, and supply better crosses. If for RB - he needs to work on tackling and defending.

I'm not ready to make a final call (though my gut says RB), but he needs more game time to decide anything and practice those skills. And reserve time doesn't quite count.

Walker/lennon and assou-ekotto/bale nip it for me

I don't rate Lennon at all. He has pace but that's it. Sure, pace is massive for a winger to have, but not when he's got **** distribution skills. The way he runs as well, so irritating. Give him two cloths and he can run down the motorway and wash cars as he goes with the way his arms flail.

That'll be his karate training........

i guess if he does any worse he'll play second striker, who moyes usually has positioned somewhere around the bench.

its a little early to start talking about coleman again, he hasn't played a full half since returning yet. he looked good coming on against blackpool, lets give him some time to get back into a groove before making further judments

sounds like coleman haha, don't really rate lennon too much either tbh, still better than walcott and downing who keep getting picked for england :S

Downing, oh my ****ing goodness, what an actual donkey. In fact, no, my apologies go out to the donkeys of the universe.
