Sharpys top lip

Player Valuation: £60m
Once again Jan is near, an every paper an internet site is linking us with a 8m move for him.

So question is????

What do you think???

Iv alway liked him an would welcome him with open arms. another player to improve are squad. out and out winger with pace, skill an an eye for goal. he's wasted at a shiite team like boro. i think he would do really well around better players, managment an fans at everton.

Should we go for him???

Maybe. I've never rated him when i've seen him for England and was down on him until recently when i saw him play some really good footie for the 'boro, so atm id say prob, but tbh i don't really know his game well enough. Tell you what tho, i reckon being a scout must be a pretty cool job.

I honestly not sure about him, he is pretty quick but if you ask me I did pick Pienaar over Downing any day, he passing is not great and crossing not up to standard, basically apart from his pace is slightly better than Pienaar!

He is just not good enough to get into our starting 11, as a back up squad player yea but would he want to come to Everton to sit on the bench and would we want to buy someone for 8M to sit on our bench?

no i dont fancy him at all
he dont score many and i dont think his assist are great

statistically the player with the most crosses in the prem.

big fish in a small pond at boro. but that isnt saying a great deal.

I think hes a good player, as suits says - bif fish in small pond - but he is still very good...However i still wouldnt get him, i think Moyes has shown he is after teh bigger fish - makign bids for internaitonal players like fernandes, lucho gonzalez - i dont see any reason why Moyes would go back

true, after all they have played together when Yak plays for Middlesbrough, but 8M is asking quite a bit though!

English and left winger though (y)

I think he may have gone a bit stale at Boro, I reckon he'd be twice the player with Goodison and the travelling army of Evertonians at away games behind him. I really do.

so what was the Yak??:P

I think the lad has gone backwards, he is not living up to his earlier reputation. I know the Boro crowd are on his back so a move away might help as he is still really a kid.................whether that move should be to us is another matter, prefer MGP(y)

He got alot of abuse off the unforgiving Boro crowd this season which might've affected his performances this season but he has undoubted ability, can score a few crackers, is pacey, left-footed, and English (for me that's important. We can keep the solid English base, and thus, the friendlieness and atmosphere about the club. I'm not saying that has anything to do with foreigners being nasty, but if you know the Premiership and are comftable in this country, it's much eaiser to slot in, and the team spirit would remain high. A huge influx of foreigners is difficult to manage), and importantly, he can deliver good crosses and free kicks, and maybe take the mantle from Arteta, whose recent set pieces all round from direct free kicks to penalties and corners have been poor.
I don't think we would be a bad signing at all because he has linked up with the Yak before and he has a superb cross on his left boot.

Downing or Fernandes?

id pick fernandes, only because hes a skillful centre mid with a bright future, and weve got pienaar, mcfadden, arteta adn osman who can go on the left
