yeah,. cardboard walls, a lot of the yet to be stars of Home and Away or neighbours, were featured at the time.

It was actually quite violent for it's time, shootings, stabbings, poisonings, rape, just for starters.

Top dog was Bea Smith, not having time for any other charlatans.

Prisoner Cell Block H, what a show, I recall being 14, I fell off my bike and my arm hurt like hell, as it got later I became more aware that something major was up with my arm.

But Prisoner was on, so I waited untill I had watched it all before going the Hospital, I had broken it in 3 places and bent 1 of the bones, it hurt, but at least I watched Prisoner.

Lizze Birdsworth, Frankie, The Freak, Vinegar Tits, Doreen, Bea Smith and some young Home and Away, Neighbours as somebody else has said.

It is a fabulous country. I have been there 5 times on holiday. Sydney is a fantastic city you have to see it to understand.(y)

Oh and does monty or Davek or even LCAB remember a guy called Chips Rafferty??:)

finally some recognition.

too much to mention with this show, I loved the fire where Ferguson and Smith were trapped somewhere, the tunnel escape, where (Midnight Express) style, it was blocked off or something and there were casualties.

Pixie Mason, what a character, pity what happened to her.

Judy Bryant, was an American I remember, had some heart defect, was even top dog for a while, while Smith was away.

Marie Winter, nasty piece of work, some broad called Chrissy Latham I think, bit of eye candy thrown in amid all the other nasties.

That governor, the first one, Davison I think it was, the prison equivalent of Clattenburg.

Our fancy dress theme for our union club is 'Aussie Beach Party'. All well and good but it's bloody FREEZING!!! Am sure we'll get round that though, hope all you proper Aussies are having/had a good one :pint:

had a great day down there on australia day, went to darling harbour and started early before setting our stall in the james craig, prince charles was at an event in the nearby park and some guy tried to shoot him. we were all watching on the big screen and they had slow mo's to show it again and again. the n.s.w. premier jumped on the guy and in the slow mo, 'arl charlie just swerved as they clattered past. then they lifted a huge flag out of the harbour and as the union jack bit came out all the aussies booed, then the rest came out and it was in tatters, there was only 'our' bit that survived.
got absolutely schoonered and pulled an incredibly fit aus/italian bird, she walked in and the whole bar stopped and looked, being full of pish i wasn't short of something to say and although i don't know what i did say, it worked:D blokes at the bar were saying, "you lacky baaaaaaaaaaaarstard, har the fack didya pull her, ya bladdy mangrel" saw her a few times as well, but she lived out west and in the end i cba hiking out there on the train.

I quite enjoyed today, yesterday even, Australia day is over for another year, unless you're West of Bermuda then it's still in full swing.

Or then again, maybe not, but in any event, it's only once a year.

Welsh day and Saint Patricks coming up on the rails, got to be some Irish Toffees around someplace.

Go you Aussies! I am an Aussie to, however not really that prominent on this forum.

Nothing beats watching the cricket on Australia day especially when we win. Even if it was against Pakistan!

Also soccer was on Aussie soccer that was and Melbourne Victory won so that was good. No where near as good as EPL is the A-League but still a good watch and atmosphere.
