It's about families who believe somekind of doomsday scenario will happend in near future and they are prepping for that..it is quite amazing..anf they are serious. they also get points how good their plan is to survive

Probably not a bad idea, just these people take everything to the extreme.

But ask yourself what you would do if, you couldn't get access to any cash, social unrest and panic buying strips all the supermarkets, and basic food and conveniences became a problem.

I had a high school history teacher who was into that crazy stuff. Seemed like a nice enough guy, the would blurt out some absolutely outlandish things. I remember him being convinced that Y2K was going to end western civilization, and saying the Hale-Bopp comet was a herald of the second coming. Complete nutter.

Sounds like pension day in Queensland.......

They work on the premise that the scenarios will be more or less instantaneous, something like food shortages is a highly likely scenario that will gradually happen to those not watching for the signs, and I don't mean stars or planetary alignments, but crop failures and extreme weather affecting production.
There are even pieces of legislation via agenda 21 and the codex alimentarius that outlaws the growing of food crops by the individual, enforced globally.
The shi'ite will really hit the fan when access to water is tampered with by a profit making corporation who will sell their product to the highest bidder....

legitimate concerns alomg the way....

That's actually a probable scenario, imo. Everything is interlinked and dependent on everything else. A collapse of the financial system would lead to chaos.. and those "profit making corporations" are by definition a part of the system, so they would be in just as much sh1te. Every company would become a Lehmans overnight. Complete financial breakdown.

History has taught us that declines in civilization, when they come, are faster than anyone expects or has time to react to. The Modern world as we know it is barely 200 years old, built upon the foundations of the industrial revolution. Much older civilizations have all crumbled before us, and I truely believe that its in man's nature that we ultimately end up destroying what we create. Last days of Rome, etc etc.

Would agree with that, the global system has created a tinderbox, it is where the spark comes from that will determine the pace, and when mankind has the ability to look after each other it takes the knowledge and abuses it.

Actually think there is a good case (one has been put forward) for mankind to be de-evolving and regressing on an intellectual level, this allows the fundamentalist religio-nutters into the debate, not those of a spiritual nature, but the genuine, bona fide loons with their sky wizard theories.

Reality is, as a species we are not mature enough to deal with our knowledge and will bow to paranoia given half a chance.
