"But that was one of the most significant captain performances I have seen in a live game. What Phil Jagielka did in the face of adversity, embracing responsibility and showing the way - it was a phenomenal performance."

We're not Wigan fans,we know the game here, don't try pulling the wool over our eyes eh?yeah Jags had a great game, but I thought Naismith again was more of a skipper, going round geeing/encouraging especially the likes of Garbutt, its a pity we've had to wait til mid March for a "captains" performance from Jags IMHO.
I think Jags made a fantastic captain on Thursday. Has been great for a while. While Martinez might use phenomenal a bit too much, in this instance it's deserved.

Just all just waffle that mate, nothing there, my point was spot on, you reply lacks names, stick a name in there and you might have a point, but you haven't because you cant.
Creative/explosive player? Not sure which team you watch but i watch Everton, and we haven't got one.

Naismith is more than good enough for our starting 11, his goals tally and assists in a season that we have been awful shows that alone.
Howard and Barry starting, Martinez could play Joel but, with three clean sheets he showed an option is there, who showed Martinez that we have an alternative to Naismith? Nobody.

So barkley isn't explosive? osman isn't creative? (I realize that osman has just came back from injury but before that it was still the same problem).

Naismith's assists hahaha! do you watch us at all? he has one assist all season and it was in the Europa league. 8 goals, 2 of which are in the Europa leauge. 1 key pass all season in the PL. want any more fact about him?

as I have said before him being picked has ruined barkleys season by forcing him to be played out of position in areas where he can have no effect on the game. It also detracts from lukaku because he has no one to feed him balls behind him.

And what's this no Barry, no Naismith and we won!
who would of thought get rid of the players below par players and put out a side with some shape to it and my god a decent result as a outcome.

who would of thought eh.
