I recently went on a trip to London, whilst there we were wandering around Covent Garden(our base) and surrounding areas, we ended up hitting Bond and Regent St just to have a look how the other half lived.

Anyway while there we noticed on a menu outside this posh Club I was gazing down when I came across this bottle of Dom Perignon 1996 on sale for a rather nice £47,000!! Yes £47k, I almost fainted.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen anything ridiculously priced.

[Poor language removed] thread I know but it's only in the alehouse lol

I chose a bottle of wine one evening in a restaurant in Paris. We couldn't work out why they were making such a fuss over a 30 Euro bottle of wine. Got the bill and found out I'd misread the price and it was 300 Euros.

It was nice like, but not that nice. At that point I realised I needed varifocals.

Owww! I worked in a pretty swanky bar on High St. Kensington a few years back and there was some really pricey stuff, but one night we'd had a massive take on a really high spending crowd. After we had a bit of a party ourselves. The owner got trashed and being a flash bast. trying to get off with one of the waitresses opened a bottle of some Armagnac, bar manager was like 'are you sure?' - 'yeah yeah yeah'. It was like 30 odd years old, worth a fortune. He was in tears the next day. Foul it was as well!

I had a glass of non-vintage Dom Perignon last night. It was decent, but not a patch on Moët.

Nowhere near the quality of Pol Roger.

What?

That must be for a methuselah of 1996 Dom Perignon Rosé Gold.

96 is considered to be the best vintage ever for Dom Perignon - if you ever want to splash out for an amazing champagne, then this is the one - you can pick a regular sized bottle up for around £300

Kudos for knowing that esk, It blew my mind the price of it don't think i'll be wasting my money on champagne any time soon though.
