Japanese Akita is a wonderful, wonderful breed.

Guys 'n gals... thank you so much for all the messages, it means an awful lot.

Here's the last two photos of Flash, taken Thursday doing what he loved to do most... sitting by the pond watching for fish and frogs.
We've buried him right there with his favourite blue ball.

Really sorry to read about this mate. He looked a lovely dog. Our dog died two years ago, and it’s horrible.

Just try to remember all the good times and that he was lucky to have been chosen and looked after by you.

Had to make arguably the worst decision of my life today, okaying the vet not to awaken my best mate Flash from the anaesthetic.

A little over a month ago, he developed a bit of a cough and sneeze, and to cut a long and painful story short, it was an aggressive tumour at the top of his nose and after x-rays, and medication, we agreed to a CT scan and biopsy today.

Hearing the bad news was absolutely devastating and agreeing not to re-awaken him was reluctantly the most humane thing to do was heart-breaking.

He's now at peace and in no more pain.View attachment 64063View attachment 64064
