Sad day for us today, Molly our jack Russell had to be put to sleep. I let her out to our back garden this morning around 9. I went to bring her back in an hour or so later. Normally as soon as you open the door she comes running, but today she was nowhere to be seen. I look over and see her wee face resting on the wall. Straight away I knew something was up. I called her over and she could hardly step over the small wall. She just collapsed and couldn't get up. Phoned the vet and nowhere was open for another hour. Took her over and they said she's been poisoned. I'm hoping no one did this intentionally. I was told a few weeks back a neighbour got decking down a few years ago and has had a mouse problem ever since. I'm thinking maybe Molly eat one that had been poisoned. Does anyone know if the council would be of any help making them do something about their decking. I'm worried now about mice and to worried to get another dog to be poisoned again.

Gutted for you mate, i find it horrendous when one of my furry mates die.

Not sure whether the council will be much help as people would complain if he wasn't doing something about the mice/rats and I'm not sure they can ban stuff like decking. Best thing would be if you can have a chat with the neighbour to find a better way of getting rid of the mice

Feel for you mate.
Hopefully it will be 'accidental' poisoning and not deliberate... we lost a Japanese Akita many years ago thanks to some arsehole throwing a sponge soaked in antifreeze over the fence. She died a slow and painful death, so I truly hope your Molly has not succumbed to anything like that.

Gutted for you mate, we`ve lost a few dogs over the years and it`s just horrible afterwards.

May bit too late, but the vet could do a blood test and see if there`s anything in there that there shouldn`t be ?

The problem with poison, is that the blighters never die where they ate the poison.

What the? Why would someone do that?
