A lot to be said for this NIK. Anyone aged 80 or over experienced a world war that the rest of us can never really understand or appreciate. As you say, they fought, many died, many suffered, yet we have young kids today who basically know nothing and have never suffered demeaning the very people who literally fought for our freedom. Irrespective of whatever newspaper they read they have truly earned respect and should be shown it..........

Better not mention those British Tommies that went to Kenya and Malaysia and demeaned those wanting the British Empire out.

100% spot on mate nothing makes me laugh more than seeing your typical liberal 21 yr old uni student calling the elderly bigots when if it wasn't for them they would be living in a Nazi Nightmare. It always that way though look at the Vietnam War whilst soldiers (mainly working class) were fighting over there some of the middle class uni types who were involved in anti war protest demo's (not got a problem with anti war demo's especially that one) a certain few however were branding the soldiers murderers and immoral. Its easy to criticise when your not dodging bullets/bombs away from family for years thats from someone who used to be in the armed forces.

The anti Vietnam war protests were also also campaigning to stop the killing of 3.8 million Vietnamese, many murdered and with 'moral' intent. What did Mohammad Ali say, "no Vietcong ever called me [Poor language removed]." The anti war movement stopped the further slaughter in Vietnam and the vast majority of them were not 'middle class uni types'.

I have a quick snoop on their website because most of their stories are utter gash and the people that comment are biggoted racists.

Amuses me to no end

Like I said in my post I have no problem with the Vietnam war protests as they were for the greater good, but a few idiots directed their anger on the soldiers which is disrespectful.

and in many uni's they were, look at police recounts of the protests and many cops belief of them having good opportunities in life whilst protesting and getting nicked etc.

A huge amount of soldiers who served in that war joined the anti war protests, because they knew first hand they were being used for an immoral war

World war ii was the closest human race has gone to going down the pan forever.

Except maybe single events the cuban missile crisis.

The time ww ii was another era.

No one alive today in the uk who wasn't there can imagine the hardship people went through.

People claim hardship these days like the rioters last year. Yeah right.

Try gas chambers. Starvation. Bombs dropping. Bullets. Death camps. Fighting. 60 million dead. Finally two nukes on for hardship.

No offence mate, but whats your point

You got proof they weren't?
