Thought I would go for a swim today and then a long walk as my exercise for the day. Had planned a 40 length stint in the pool, and at 10am I was an hour prior to the usual biddy infestation in time for 11.05am Aqua Aerobics faff about.

How wrong was I. It was like a scene from Cocoon. Biddy's everywhere fart arsing about walking in the pool clasping their hands like they were catching flies. I found a lane and got in it, and proceeded to start to swim, then more biddy's got in and moved into my lane and just sat their chatting.

I made protests and then ****ed off. I think as soon as you hit 70 you should be shipped off to some old people's island where you can live out your days without clogging up our swimming pool's and national health service.

That is all.

If it was lane discipline you have a point...not just about pensioners doing it though, any age group. If it wasn't lane discipline then you're out of order - pensioners are allowed in at any time you're able to get in the pool...they are human beings.

God help them if we'd lost.

Do we take it that you was wearing regulation swimwear then ?
was your lane sectioned off ?

Lane discipline mate, this old crow invaded my lane, but it's ok she helped the war effort or something like that.

Will you be any different when you are 70?

Start doing butterfly and clout a few of them.

Same applies to you. There an awful lack of respect in this country and you are all eptomising that. Many of those folk you talk of fought for their country in one way or another. Would you have the balls to do so.

Oh yes is that how you feel about your parents, uncles, aunties and Grans

I think it works both ways mate. I am not ageist, and I'm not rude to old people, but sometimes they get right on my wick thinking they own the sodding pool, which is what this thread is about.

I say excuse me, I do all this, I'm polite. I even helped an elder gentleman the other day who had lost his key in the pool.

But today I felt like I shouldn't have been in there, like I wasn't allowed to swim.

Okay Ghost, is it a public pool? or a Private leisure Club.

Private Leisure Club. It's not that they were in there, it's that they were in there not swimming, and sitting in a lane that I was in. I go there to get fit not socialise. I think there is an etiquette and it applies to all ages.

Bad luck, in my local Private Leisure Club, Crow Wood, it is all better controlled. The Aerobics part is laned off leaving 2 lanes for swimming.

Perhaps it is a better clientele here than in Port Sunlight!(y)

It's in Bromborough, but not the point. It is a bit skanky in there, was a nice new club 2 years back, but it's just not being maintained enough.
