I like Joe Royle. I was living in Oldham when we appointed him. There were a lot (a couple) of pissed school mates (well, those who weren't manure fans). He did wonders with them lot at Boundary Park.
Anyone that was ever interviewed about playing us during that time always said how horrible we were to play against- no time on the ball, hard tackles and hard work.
Don,t forget amocachi i loved himThats pretty much what they say about us now though!
He tried to put a good team together, he brought players like Speed and Kanchelskis in, Hinchcliffe wasnt short of the old skill and Dunc was at his peak. He was getting there but then it all fell apart very suddenly and prematurely and we entered the Everton version of the dark ages.
Hopefully we'll be able to compare DM reign as the Everton version of the end of the dark ages and the entering of the renaisance.

He wasn,t with it was he but effectiveJust a legend really- when he wandered on to the pitch in the semi final against spurs when he wasnt meant to be going on and then scored two goals to help us win. [Poor language removed] brilliant! HAHAHAH!!![]()

Amo was great. I remember seeing him at USA '94 and he banged in four goals for Nigeria and I thought we'd signed a world beater. He never really reached those heights sadly.
Another one who did exceptionally well at that tournament was Martin Dahlin from Sweden. We were linked with him but it never happened. Don't think he did much after that.
