Do you miss the Old Firm?

I have to say I do. I'm not a fan of Rangers or Celtic, but I always watched their derby. I think it was played way too often in the past years (5 times per year mostly) but I admire the passion of their fans and the emotions in that match. Sadly it will take some years until they'll meet again in the SPL (unless there will be a cup fixture) so I'm pretty disappointed.

Some vids of important goals in the Old Firm. I love it when the fans go crazy:

What do you think?

Not in the slightest.

When we played Dundee earlier this season, they brought more fans than Rangers, there was a better atmosphere and not a single sectarian or religious chant throughout the match.

Now, if we can just get rid of the other Ugly Sister, we'll be all the happier for it.

not even arsed. Both clubs and their continued sectarianism are a disgrace, and an embarrassment to football and society in general.

I'll be honest that surprised me mate especially when you look at some of their attendances .

I do miss the old firm games the passion , the atmosphere and some of those challenges I've always enjoyed them.

I'm not saying it's the same for every game mate and other teams have probably seen a loss in revenue from Dundee as opposed to Rangers but with it being a derby game, it was a total sell out, the atmosphere was as good as any there's been at a United home game, AND it was an easy three points.

Tell the truth, I hope Hearts go the same way. It's about time clubs realised that living outwith their means is only sustainable in the short term. Try and do it over a number of years and it'll bite your arse.

I do know what you mean but I do feel sorry for the fans of clubs that go under in these circumstances but I'd probably have less sympathy for the hearts fans that revelled I'm sure in rangers position . There does seem to have been some crazy mismanagement of clubs followed by the turkeys voting for Christmas demotion of rangers (although certainly the right decision )

I don't feel sorry for their fans in the slightest. As you said, they revelled in the demise of Rangers and when they were signing 10 players a season from all across Europe, they were crowing from the rooftops about how they were going to become a third force in Scottish football. The ones I feel sorry for are the cleaners, the pie sellers, the groundsmen, the ones who will lose there livelihood because of the greed of others.

Look at how Dundee United are run. There's a very strict wage structure in place, there has been since Jim McLean was in charge in the 80's. There's at least one player sold for decent money every summer. The players and more importantly, the bills are paid on time every month. As a result, the debt is coming down remarkably and there was a profit of £1.5m last tax year.

Never arsed by these games. Whenever I watch the game it never lives up to the hype.

No, I don't miss them at all. Whilst I allow myself a wry smile any time either of them lose, I did enjoy Celtic beating Barca - even though Barca won the passing.
