Interesting speaking to fellow Everton fans about how they feel towards Rooney 12 years on from his, some I know hate him, some don't mind him, some want him back.

He was hated for years after his move, kissed the united badge ect ect. But with time I've noticed receptions to him have become less hostile.

Be interesting to see what people think now? especially ahead of tonight's game.

I can't stand him, still.

The thought of him coming back to Everton, washed up, topping up his retirement fund, and thinking he's made everything right with Everton by doing so, leaves me cold.

Not arsed anymore to be honest, although I hated him at the time.

The trophy haul he's achieved at united vindicates his decision as far as I'm concerned.

As a bonus, nice to see that he's bringing his kids up as blues - to the extent he drove his Mrs back to Liverpool to give birth so they wouldn't be born in Manchester!

Indifferent to him, played a few games for us left, all his medals arent worth half of what winning one with your boyhood team would mean

There are very few players who after 12 years after being away from their home club are still remembered for it. Cant think of another that the home club is still mentioned in relation to a player and certainly not as much!

No.

It was sad to see him leave, sentimentality aside, the club was in a state at the time and questions have to be asked elsewhere as to why we weren't in a position to keep him, at least for few more years.
