Do we have enough defenders?

Think if you add Neville to your list we have enough cover for short term problems. Our big issue is cover for Baines if he picks up a baddie. Distin and Neville can play there, but neither look that natural. Garbutt must only be viewed as emergency cover at this point I'd have thought

I think Moyes thinking behind the lack of left back cover is that Baines is a very fit lad who isn't injury prone and that we do have good enough short term cover in Distin and Neville for any little knocks and in the youth we have not 1, but 2 lads, both England quality for their ages who enjoyed decent loan spells where they comfortably fitted in without standing out. Probably giving it another year to see if either of these develop into something before he pushes serious cover/long term successor as a priority with the limited cash we have.

Yep Garbutt and Bidwell had good seasons on loan last year. Will be interested to see if either used in the League Cup ?

We used the third highest number of players last season with 30 overall, QPR used 33 and Wolves used 32. Take a look at how their seasons went.

On the flip side, Man City and Newcastle both used the joint-second fewest with 21 players overall. Take another look at how their seasons went.

Just thought I'd throw that into a "do we have enough?" debate. Maybe we have too much filler, too little killer. Or should I say had now Mirallas, Naismith and possibly Niang have signed.
