That is a surprise.

I thought the same thing. Doesn't seem like he spent that much time in the final third.
Makes me wonder now how many of those passes should have been shots then.

Or how manywere passes backward. Seems like moving the ball backward is almost all he did last season.

They were probably sideways or backwards rather than attacking passes.

Maybe because he was so good at the back end of 09/10 season that anything he did seemed poor because he set such high standards? But he did seem to pass backwards, sidewards and stayed in our half...

The statistic just points out how pivotal he is to our creative play to be honest. Most of the other players in the list are the creative force behind each of their team too (Arsenal have to have 3 in there though).
