How did we even sign him in March? He was literally quality when we got him on loan. Could have definitely went down without him that season.

He was good for us when he signed even though he was quite old.

In those days there was no transfer window as such.

But on a certain day in March all transfer activity ceased until the season was over.

It was also called "Deadline day" but was nowt like the feeding frenzy we see today

the thing worrying me is we're crying out for a number 10, assuming we get one then it's going to be difficult for him to hit the ground running as that sort of role requires a good working relationship with the other attackers (so you know where they're likely to be). if we get one in 3 games in then it takes a while to get them all clicking it could be an issue
