Do some blues want Madrid to win the Big Cup only because of Liverpool?

Still, generally once a player leaves my allegiance leaves with him...maybe it's just another example of how even amongst blues some of us support our football passion differently.

Don't get me wrong. I still want us to finish above Arsenal. Even if that requires a 100 point deduction because Mikel was beaten to death by Arsene Wenger for tracking back too much.

But I still have fond memories of the lad. I'm a fan of the Arteta who played for us and I always will be, that doesn't mean I'm rooting for him when playing for Arsenal.

can someone more fair-minded explain how this thread makes me look like a kopite?

Because they always accuse us of being small time and obsessed with them?

It's like how racists don't say that blacks are inferior openly because it's not socially acceptable so they say other stuff which kind of implies that instead like about immigration and the importance of being brought among your own culture. And people catch on that that's often code for 'White Power' so if anyone says **** like that, even if it's actually quite reasonable, they get damned by association and suspected of being BNP members.

But I still have fond memories of the lad.

Me too, and he left honorably too. He was our most skillful and artistic player during the Moyes-era...I do feel good for him when he scores for Arsenal, so I must also still have a soft spot for him (or a hard-on, depending on preferred vernacular-as-metaphor).

is right, lad...now i get it.

but come on, have you seen the comments which provoked this thread into existence? and no wonder they think that of us when our own anthem mentions them...twice...even while it states that we don't care.

Does their never walk alone song mention us?

It's obviously a raw nerve, as it's kind of true...(edit: the two threads before and after this one in the WORLD forum are all about Liverpool).

if a red mentions it of course we should batter their comment away, it's only right...but if a fellow blue also mentions it then amongst ourselves maybe we should take note.

but yeah, i can now understand how some defensive blues might think this thread is an elaborate ruse by a red spy...just too much local history and family ties involved to think clearly about this subject, i reckon...

He was stinking the place out, the Arteta that did what you speak of hadn't been seen since the contract was signed that gave him £70k. He is doing for Arsenal what he hadn't done for us for years, whilst he was injured Pienaar took on a lot of the responsibilities, then when Mikel came back (Birmingham in the cup) Steevie had all that taken away, Mikel never even got close then to doing what Pienaar had been doing.

5...5 fellow blues calling me a kopite on the same thread, it's getting boring now

it seems there is one subject that is taboo among some of you....
what was the question again!.................... most evertonians arent arsed with LFC, who even knew how many cups paisley won anyway ffs. i`d always go for the one which pisses the kopites off the most so theyve got less to crow about
