I know, I know. It's an American jibe at Seattle for acting as if they 'invented football' when Sounders FC came into the MLS. The Seattle supporters (supposedly) make it seem like they were the first ones to think of wearing scarves and chanting at games. I've not noticed, so it's a joke about a joke about a misconception. Sort of convoluted in retrospect.
