Anyone remember rats goal against the [Poor language removed], 2-0 we won 85-86 i think. long range effort too if I remember.

He was moaning, but hey at the time I was saying far worse things. Sulking on the sofa, the missus tried talking to me at half time and I nearly exploded.

As mentioned, the thing is that Ratcliffe is a blue - just like us. If any of us (no more so than me) was commentating on that last night it would have been the same because, be honest, we were abstract gash for long periods.

I still love them.

Last nights game was frustrating, annoying and full of tension but the thing that pissed me off most was Ratcliffes crap commentry. Everything he said was negative, I know it was a [Poor language removed] performance but even when McFadden scored he was still droaning on.

The only thing he said that was right was the fact we didnt bring Carsley on!!!

Rats is always negative, about every game he commentates, you should hear him on a wrexham game!

I've I was commentating last night it wouldn't have just been negative, it would've been censored.

we were [Poor language removed] for the majority of the match and rarely had possession of the ball.

what was he meant to say?

as for saying Anichebe was the only attack minded player on the bench he effectively was.

Lukas made the numbers up. No chance he'd get his first appearance in the most important match of the decade.

nice to see ex players commentating, as Liverpool players seem to commentate on any football match, regardless of whether LFC are playing or not.

but he thought he was a defender!!!!!

no cuz i love him!!!

just research the man needs to research before he goes on live tv!!!!!

would you go on live tv and speak [Poor language removed]!!!

i would do a bit of research first!!

Yeah probably...

Leave the man alone, he's an Everton fan simple as that, not a trained commentator (if there is such a thing). Sure he got things wrong, like one time when he said, "thats Evertons first corner" when actually the corner was as a result of our previous corner!:D But would most of us have talked any differently during last nights game?

Most commentators couldnt give a [Poor language removed] about the game, at least Ratcliffe was giving his true reflection.

i think he was resigned to the fact we was going out and seemed disapointed

That is spot on, he, like the rest of us, could not believe how bad we were in that first half. The wife tried holding a conversation with me at half time and apparently I just did not reply, walked straight passed her to make my h/t post on here. I honestly didn't hear a bloody thing I was in a trance like state, stunned as most would have been.

I thought the best bit abut Rats Punditry over both legs was his inability to call the opposition by the right name:D

During the first leg coverage he called them metatarsal - must be all that talk about the footballers favourite injury and the dodgy boots at the moment:D :D

Last night he called them something else - certainly was not metalist.

However I can't give him grief for it - I just thought it ws funny from a true Everton legend(y) (y) (y)

I think he picked up the pun from here, he called them, by accident mind, mentalist (he is Welsh after all is said and done(sorry Latch:lol: ) )
