Did Chris Gayle really do much wrong? I thought it was funny!

On the one hand I fully sympathise with the expectation that women should be able to go to work without being hit on live on air (and it seems like Gayle and Bravo have previous with her and her colleagues), but then on the other, the whole TV industry is superficial in that sense, especially to women. I mean you don't see many plain looking presenters do you? It would be nice if people were judged on the contents of their character, but I'm not sure TV will ever offer that.

Irrelevant of the rights or wrongs of what he did, he must have either been on something or incredibly naive to think that there wasn't going to be some kind of comeback from having a pop at her live on telly. Plain stupid.

The sad irony is, if the roles were reversed and she was pursuing him, shed be an empowered woman loads of go girl shouts.

Typically anti male bollocks

Same line of thought behind saying "black people can call me a cracker, why can't I call them the n word"?

Women are the discriminated party, lacking the power. Not always of course, but certainly when it comes to TV and the media. For example, male reporters, journalists, anchors etc don't get judged on their appearance and are allowed to age. So when a female reporter is put in a position like that, it's not really on.

I'm sure Chris Gayle didn't mean to be malicious but the backlash is good. It promotes a change in attitude and hopefully a fairer work environment for women.

Sexism is still here and it's rife. People thinking men are the discriminated party in the wider context or that there's an anti-male agenda are being narrow-minded, selfish and just generally lacking in empathy.
