The decision by the Government on whether destination Kirkby will be called in has been delayed.

The original decision for the public inquiry was supposed to be made by the 3rd of July but the government have asked for an extension of this decision.

It should come as a big blow for Everton fans and David Moyes as it is well documented that Everton won’t be entering any transfer deals until they know the decision of the Kirkby deal.

A spokesman for the Government office for the North West said "We have applied for more time to consider the application because of its size.

"That information has been sent to Knowsley council and to the developers.

"The statutory provision prevents the local authority going ahead and acting on planning permission. Inside 21 days, it is difficult to consider all the possible ramifications of an application of this scale."

The move is relatively common on planning applications of this scale, officials said.
Let’s hope that this decision doesn’t affect any transfer dealings for the new season.
