We grumble quite a bit at times but in fairness can anyone remember a derby where we had some good old fadhioned fortunate luck ?

Ruddock own goal and mcmananananananan fighting with grobelaaaaaar.

Loads of bad luck, rodwell semt off, hutchison goal that never was, clive thomas ....

So what has been good and whats been bad luck ?

We had a huge slice of luck in the semi last year, 2 bits in fact.

They had to play their 3rd choice keeper and we got a lucky deflection in the box for Jelavic's goal.

Lucus was harshly given a second yellow when sent off in the Gosling derby and Torres wrongly had one disallowed when he'd already scored 2 a few years ago.

Thats about it.

Honest, clear and concise. Close the thread.

Tbf play wise we've had a fair few breaks (of course they've had lots more, but that's just the way it goes).

It's where referee's are concerned that they have a pact with satan.

Doesn't matter about luck when the manager and players know the game is lost before it's even kicked off.

One that often goes under the radar possibly because we eventually won the tie,is the clearest penalty I have ever seen in my whole life at the fleapit in the cup in 1991,Pat Nevin had his legs taken in the box,Neil Midgley was the ref who waved play on,it was one of those that your jaw just dropped and for all us older blues you thought,"Oh no,not again!!!"

...is the correct answer, and our Derby record since rusty bollocks took over proves this.

Not to mention the fact that we see beating a sh*t team like Liverpool as some kind of achievement.

everybody celebrates a derby win, but moyes needs to look at is just as what you mentioned, a game against a poor mid-table team and a manager who he ousted easily last year. I'm still quietly confident, even if we do have that gash centre midfield we're all worried about - they have plenty of weaknesses as well

If we are positive from the off and just attack them,we will get a positive result regardless of our problems at the moment,if we set ourselves up worrying about lets face it a very average premiership side we will end up getting beat and I'm afraid that will say more about our own mindset than anything.

we did that vs qpr, sadly the ball broke for them and a few seconds later they were 1-0 which set the tone for the rest of the match really. Mind you, i'm very pleased to see us come back down from a goal down in our last 3 games to remain unbeaten despite not playing anywhere near our potential. Play to our best and it's an easy win, sadly that's a big IF

Unfortunately, ja.

If only he went and attacked them, we'd score a shed load.

So last season at Goodison Park vs Liverpool, Moyes didnt send his team out to get at Liverpool and as a result we were battering them for 25mins straight until Rodwell got sent off, or was i just seeing things.
