Depth of our squad

A-- Leandro its been said has been bought for the first team. Kone has had a couple of decent games in over 2 years and his contract expires at the end of the season....Leandro is more likely to be backup to lukaku than kone in a year.

B-- Naismith is utter tosh and shouldnt be anywhere in the squad. For £8mil theres plenty of better players who we could have signed.

C-- Holgate is more likely to be backup right back going forward than Naismith being 2nd choice behind Barkley/Cleverley etc. Martinez has shown with Galloway hes happy to play these types at full back and coleman has no cover.

D-- Garbutt is England u21 right back, looks to me to be 2nd choice behind Baines and will be competing with him after this season on loan. That seems quite clear.

E-- Howard had a good game but you cant just say hes inconsistent. Hes been awful for a year bar the odd "good game". In any case he needs replacing.

The OP seems like a strange thing to complain about. We have depth in players that we see actually contributing, why is it a problem that we don't have 6 wantaway players who we paid too much for who can't even make the bench like the [Poor language removed] do?

We've had 3 left backs get injured and we're still doing fine.

Such an annoying post, Barry hasn't put a foot wrong all season, we're clearly a much more organized team whenever he plays and he's good at nullifying the creative players on opposing teams (see his performance against Silva). Garbutt is completely unproven and some good corners doesn't change that. Howard is inconsistent but he just single-handedly earned us a clean sheet at Spurs.

I don't understand on what basis you can say Naismith isn't good, but an 18 year old we've just signed from Barnsley who's played a couple U-21 games is "good" enough to contribute. Or that a striker you've never seen play is better than Kone.

You've just condensed all the standard GOT whipping boys into one post, preferring players we've never seen play over them.

How many other players are there that have scored against Chelsea 3 seasons in row, two seasons in a row vs Arsenal and also found the net against Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool that are less than 10m? Who would you want that has moved this transfer window for that fee?

Naismith has his faults but everyone is keen to point out our poor creativity and need for a playmaker yet despite that Naismith often hits the net in games that Lukaku for whatever reason struggles in. He also has a touch of snide, something that came in very useful during our limp displays during last winter and against Spurs last weekend.

Perspective...eye opening.

The statement that Naismith is utter tosh is itself utter tosh. He has done well for the last 2 years. The only reason to move him on might be age (ie if RM wants to bring in a younger player for the future) but currently he is contributing to the team.

Ok. If its goalscoring we are focusing on, take a look at his season averages for us.

Not even sure what position he's competing for these days as if its Barkley then i'd rather have Cleverley.

Under Martinez - 9 goals 4 assists all comps last year, 9 goals 6 assists the year before. Not startling but perfectly servicable for someone who as you point out is shifted all round the pitch.
