Denis Law... Funny

I was about 9 or 10 and was in the Goodison Road side near the corner flag. He got the ball and ran down towards the corner flag and someone tackled him and the ball went out for their throw in. When he went to get the ball he looked up at me smiled and winked. Never forgot it.

I always thought we had put the final nail in Manure's coffin in that game ....Dennis made sure Ha Ha What a player !!
To the tune of Don Mclean's American Pie....
Bye bye Man Utd bye bye,
You're going in the second division don't cry
The street end boys are drinking whisky and rye
Singing this will be the day that you die

Very 70s!!

Not seen that in years and never seen his interview comments. At the time I thought he had been half hearted in hitting the ball but looking at it again I have changed my mind. He meant it but was clearly incapable of celebrating given the circumstances.
PS it was quite good that the Utd game before that was a defeat at Goodison iirc.

United were down anyway weren't they as
the team they were competing against had already won. So yea, as much as City wish it, Everton were the ones who sent them down.

Dithering Daddy reckons he was a combination of George Best and Jimmy Greaves and he reckons he was better than both of them.
I thought he had more application than either Best or Greaves but he didn't have Best's outrageous skill nor Greaves killer instinct. Having said that, if I was looking for a complete player I would always have picked Law from the the three of them.
