...student 'loans' is another debt factor for our youngsters. My kids were fortunate enough to qualify through the £3k per year days and came out owing less than £20k each but paying back the minimum only scratches the surface and some will end up paying for longer than a mortgage. If you can, pay more than the monthly deduction.

They must have increased it to 20k because it was definitely 15k when I did it, I went through the CAB and they couldn't have been more helpful, it was all sorted in a couple of weeks.

Sadly in the process of tackling the many years of sticking it on the plastic and allowing my overdraft to get out of control.

I was a bit clueless so I did spend a lot of time paying off interest rather than paying off the cards, but I transferred all the debts to interest free credit cards and also the overdraft, had to pay smallish fees, but now ive got a year or 2 of actually PAYING off the debts rather than just paying off interest. Left me a little on the short side but at least when I can see the debts coming down, which is quite a relief.

I think most of the debt is Everton related with regards Season and cup tickets, FFS.
