Blimey, some debt charity have said there are 8.3 MILLION households with significant debt issues.

Like, I assume that doesnt mean folk with a mortgage or credit card that they manage quite comfortably, but like worrying levels of credit.

I had my pretty minor issues beards ago, but if anyone has a problem, which can envelope you, believe me, there is plenty of help out there if you feel overwhelmed.

A couple of people I know have used StepChange and found them brilliant. They don't charge for the service and they talk to all of your creditors for you and agree a payment plan. They also do a proper manageable budget with you so that you can work out exactly what money is going where.

Debt can be crippling and cause fairly severe mental health issues, if you're struggling and think you've run out of options then give them a call and go through everything and they'll get you sorted. Ignoring it just causes no end of stress, companies aren't too bad if you're honest and open about the predicament you've got yourself into.

My overdraft reached almost £5,000 last year, but I've got it under control now. And I've never been in truly massive debt.

As a householder my council tax and water rates are dearer than my mortgage when I finished paying our house off - you dream of owning your house to ease the finances........I feel sorry for anyone starting out on the housing ladder today!

Just ignore the expectations / media programming /advertising and stop buying stuff (apart from food and heat obvs).
