Let's assume we're going to accumulate enough points to stay up this season.

Let's assume that there will be at least 3 clubs worse than us next season, as the Championship seems a great big bag of nothingness this season with all the promoted teams destined to struggle.

So, sell Rodwell, Barclay and Fellaini for a combined £60 million and we have a debt free club which may prove more attractive to potential buyers. Even if the 24/7 search still comes to nothing the pressure lifted by owing nothing might bring a breath of fresh air to the place.

Rodwell is injured as often as he plays, Fellaini ditto and we have yet to see Barclay, so you could argue that the team would not be significantly weakened by their departures.

Thoughts anyone ?

We'll be relegated if we do that. We simply don't have enough bodies to cope with the loss of three players, two of which are important to the first team. Not to mention we still won't have any money to buy anyone else, other than by getting more bank loans, which gets us back into debt.

That would leave us with a midfield camp of

Neville
Gibson
Coleman
Gueye
Heitinga
Cahill
Bily
Forshaw?

That is far, FAR too few. We'd be destroyed.

I understand what the poster is saying and it makes a bit of sense or BK could just sell the club for the debt that HE and HIS board have racked up and we get to keep three of our better players.

The TV money would no longer be servicing the debt though, so we would have some money to spend.

Plus we might just attract a new owner.

I don't think the debt is the biggest stumbling block - it;s the fact that the stadium doesn't generate enough matchday revenue for us to make a profit

I don't understand why you'd do this as you'd have to spend a good chunk of that to replace, and to prevent Evertonians rioting.

17 Million has already gone to the debt in the last year! How far are we in debt FFS?

Early repayment fees. £17m off a £45m debt would probably leave us with like £35m, so they just restructure it to reduce interest repayments.

I would love to explore this option. To live within our means. If we could get a few journeymen in from the Championship for low prices, blood some of the kids and stay up.

All of our money would be ours, pay off the Goodison mortage, buy Finch Farm and each and every penny we get would be ours not the banks.

Then build, properly within our means.

Where do I sign?
