Dearth of world class midfielders in the Premier League?

CMs were better then but the style of play was much worse, the Premier League has improved for the better since we entered it.

It becomes more and more like La Liga which is great and technical.
Joke's over mate.

Three years of this is getting tiresome. It was funny at first, I'll be honest.

Gloat when you have an honours list like ours, thanks. It's the same thing over and over mate.

toure is head and shoulders above anyone.

death of world class players in general in the prem though. wouldn't say any of the keepers are top class, only when cortuois returns will we have one. strikers? suarez and aguero and even suarez is an iffy one as he's never really proved it at the top top level imo.

wingers? hazard will be, not sure he's quite there yet.

defenders? hmm is there any? a few decent full backs but not world class

its one of the sports were you dont have to be a top performer to become a multi millionaire, tony hibbert is to football what someone like martin conception is to boxing, both honest pros, but the earning differences are massive

I all fairness so are the challenges to reach the top level.

Hibbert has had to be better than literally millions of players to reach the premier league. Conception may have been better that 5-10,000 boxers to reach his.

The point about money is a good one imo.

Where I work, there's a pro tennis player. Guillermo Garcia Lopez. 30 years old. Just won an PTA tournament in Casablanca which, if I'm not mistaken pushed him back into the top 50 players in the world. He's probably got career earnings between 4 and 5 million euros. From that he has to pay his flights, hotels, his trainer and spends a lot of time away from home. Any footballer in the top 50 in the world will be earning 4-5 million Euros a year minimum. Spends more time at home than he does away. has his trips and hotels paid for, Trainer, paid for. etc, etc.
Money is the biggest problem in football imo

Not sure what you're talking about. Hazard is absolutely there. World Class player and big game player. He is one of the best wingers in the world alongside Ronaldo, Reus, Bale and Robben.

I think this does a disservice to the players in the Prem. While there may not be the characters of years gone by there are without doubt greater skill levels being demonstrated by most sides. It could be down to the better playing surfaces, ball or boots, but some of the passing that you see now and the accuracy is as good as it gets..........

Unfortunately when you have teams like liverpool this year and united for the last few years being successful playing glorified hoofball in a 4-2-4 formation to two wingers and two strikers from deep then having players that boss midfield becomes a bit unnecessary and it is that reason that there aren't many in the league and why our teams have struggled in europe for years now (with the exception of chelsea becuase they actually realise that you have to defend against good teams).
