Lots of chatter on Twitter about alleged suicide attempts and depression.

Allegedlly in one of the red tops today?

You spend so long envying footballers you forget to also look at the other side. It's such a ridiculously large part of their life that it suddenly being taken away must be quite hard to take. I imagine that's why so many go into punditry, coaching and managing.

Ignoring Tubey/Bry gate above...

Very sad about this. It's hard for me to understand how a footballer can suffer from depression. But it clearly is a problem.

Windass said that he felt like a failure. It's crazy to think that a player who'd had a pretty decent professional career could think this. These guys need help but I feel they don't get anything once they stop playing.

It's really sad.

Hopefully someone (Family or friends) can put their arm round Windass and try to help him through a difficult time. If he is depressed then he needs to get it fixed and get out of that spiraling situation as quickly as possible, long term depression could really wreck his life.

As for the two accounts above trying to knock cobs off one another, why don't the two of you start calling each other banned/removed forum accounts. That seems the flavour of the month...

Perhaps you two could go and pollute the 'Socrates' or 'Gary Speed' threads whilst you are at it.
Surely a Modz would suggest PM or your own chat up thread or something.

I didn't do a thing here. He neg reps me, then accuses me of belittling the Hillsborough disaster, how do you expect me to respond? He baited me badly and I fell for it but I'm not going to just take that accusation without response.

Anyway, I'm done with him. As I said, Windass seems like a great bloke, with Kamara he is superb on Soccer Saturday and I wish him all the best as he goes into therapy.

In all seriousness windass is one of my favourite things on soccer Saturda, he reminds me of a guy I used to work with excellent footballer not the brightest but a lovely guy.

Wish him all the best.

Apologies for bringing the Hillsborough thing up in here, i was very wound up.
