Dealing with artex.

If you are worried about asbestos, then there will be small percentage of asbestos in a artex ceiling. As long as it isn’t brown asbestos, you’ll be fine just scraping it off. Get any standard form of dust mask, a plaster scraper and be off quickly. Take a sample of the after, get it tested and you’ll have results back quickly. Once you’ve got results back then either bring the ceiling down and get it re-boarded and skimmed.

How many ceilings are you looking at? When I’ve got foreigners on, normally I’ll just skim over a artex ceiling. Easier and saves money. Some of us won’t charge a fortune either.
