riddick

Player Valuation: £70m
Not trying to be reactionary but we were beyond woeful with them today. And not just free kicks/corners, there were about 5 times when a ball went out for a goal kick and, after the replay was over, it was a Chelsea throw.

I thought Digne was quite good early in the season with them but the last couple matches have been wasteful as anything. We should have had a lot more than 1 shot on goal with all the free kicks/corners we had today.

Especially at the end, we were sitting back, getting a free kick and turning over possession back to Chelsea immediately. Really caused a problem.

Ive said it before you can beat the top sides if you use set pieces effectively.

Today you look at the corners and free kicks we had and just one of those perfectly in the area and you have Mina, Keane, Gomes, Richarlison etc all big lads attacking it.

Silva needs to address it as we could have nicked a 1-0 win today had we put a few good balls in.

That's the only thing i was disappointed with today. We still lack the required quality in the final third to hurt teams consistently and today was a good example. Just extremely wasteful at times.. almost as if we were afraid to potentially be over-extending and letting Chelsea in.

Like I said as well tho, it wasn't just corners/free kicks. Pickford's distribution has been fairly shocking all season. When we got him there were a ton of Sunderland supporters saying "he's going to get so many assists for you, his distribution is amazing!". It's pretty glaring tbh.

I'm convinced that we just simply don't work on set pieces in training.
Not just everton. Watch most teams and their set pieces are awful. You'd think when you're paying someone 100k + per week they'd be able to knock the head off a matchstick from 30 yards with a ball. Doesn't seem to be the case, though, which is odd, given most other sports have people who can do things with such precision.
