BREAKING NEWS from this article is that Frank De Boer has requested to leave Ajax, coming just a few days after his agent revealed he "would love" to manage a team like Everton. De Boer has been at Ajax since December 2010, winning 4 consecutive national titles. Whilst officially under contract until 2017, the former Netherlands and Barcelona defender narrowly missed out on the title this year to PSV, and on Wednesday afternoon met with the board to discuss his future, where he expressed his desire to leave.
For me, bringing in an experienced manager who has actually won things as a player and a manager would be ideal for us to turn things round next season. Not to mention he's a former defender who would make sure that our priorities are right at the back. I think he could have the ability to attract some decent names in the transfer window, and he has experience (with his backroom staff) in developing talent.
If the board ever do decide to sack Martinez, he's the clear choice imo. What do we think blues?
Here's the link to the article if you know Dutch. Otherwise I'll try my best to translate more on request.
