I'm looking to see if anyone has any information on a David (Davy/Davie) Thomson (Thompson) that played for Everton around the 1900s? He played on the right of defence and was Scottish. The only info I have relating him to Everton is that of a match report from the quarter final of the Scottish cup from 1913/14 on Steventoun United which mentions that he is ex-Everton. He also played for Kilmarnock, Airdrie and Ayr United. I have a picture of him in an Ayr United team from 1912/13 standing next to Celtic great Willie McStay!

He's my wife's great grandfather. Her auntie doesn't know much info but states that her mother was brought up by her great grandparents as her granny had passed away and she's under the belief that David Thomson was doing playing for Everton.

Not much help really but
S.Thomson 1891-92... 3 games number 9.
R.Thompson 1892-93..1 game number 3.
Then from 1913-1921 playing at mostly number 2 and occasionally at number 3
R.Thompson.

In my Everton bible of the era you mention that season Everton had a player at right back named B Thompson -No Thompson played for the blues first team from 1900 - to the season you mention - he could well of been a fringe player never making the first team proper?
Indeed the B thompson played the year after too at right back, and in 1919 season so maybe he was on our books, but never made it into the first team?
hope that helps
