YEAH!

Did you see the defense in front of him ffs! By all accounts if it wasn't for him Cardiff would've been battered ten nil every game in the PL. He was outstanding.
He conceded more goals than any other keeper in the Premier League that season. Yeah, he faced a lot of shots, but it's not like he saved 90% of them. For every YouTube quality save he made, he picked the ball out of the back of the net twice. He's a horribly overrated goalkeeper because the sheer volume of shots he faces means that he's going to make more spectacular saves.

Ok, give me some examples where he has let a goal in at his near post when the opposition player is at a tight angle close to the byline like Kolarov was.

Easy if there that many.

I was thinking of Chelsea's 3rd goal in the 6-3 game last season, which to be fair did take a deflection. Almost identical angle to Kolarovs and sneaked past Howard at the same near post that he left unguarded

Yeah exactly, it took a deflection. The only reason it went in at the near post was because as Hazard played the ball back Howard moved off the post to track the ball (as he should do), but unfortunatly the ball deflected off Coleman and went in to the gap Howard left behind.

Howard was in the right position to start with, but as soon as Hazard plays the ball back he needs to move off the post to protect the rest of his goal. It's just unlucky it deflected in the small gap he left behind.

Yeah that's fair enough, I just watched the goal again on YouTube and it did take a bigger deflection than I remembered. Turns out my memory is even worse than I thought!

Sorry Tim, I take it back! Clean sheet today please though
