Liverpool Echo.co.uk - Liverpool FC - News - David France takes Everton and Liverpool founding fathers back home

Personally, I find this type of "hands across the park" sentimentality laughable. Here he is commissioning paintings of Liverpool and Everton 'founding father' figures to be exhibited together...even putting forward the idea that John Houlding's portrait should be hung in the Everton boardroom!! FFS, who in their right minds would want that cnut in there? Or exhibited in an area 'accesses by fans' of both clubs (it'd last approximately the amount of time it took someone to take a razor out and slash the one of Houlding - about the same time the Everton portraits would be getting the same treatment).

Why cant these well meaning people just accept there is a divide there, it's there for a reason, and it shouldn't even be thought about being "bridged"?

<furious>

So Davek, on a serious note, your unhappy about six paintings and how they will be commemorated (Harding needs no further explanation), but your happy to share a stadia with them from the other side? How come?

There's a shared stadium twice every season. That'd still be the same with a joint stadium. Or have I got that wrong? :lol:

It wasn't avoiding the question. You asked about us sharing a stadium. We wouldn't be - not anymore than is the case now. We'd have joint stadium ownership, and that's a different kettle of fish. Are Milan and Inter not fierce rivals? Lazio and Roma? My point about the portraits was that the idea was to foster some reconciliation between Everton and Liverpool when none can be possible. And why would anyone want that anyway, it'd mean that having two clubs was meaningless. That's something the pacifiers like David France cant get their heads around. A well meaning fool at the end of the day.
