Made the most of what he had so fair play to him. Though Posh wouldn't be my 1st or even 2nd pick out of the spice girls at the time

Chris Waddle reckons Beckham would not get in the top 1000 players over the last 40 years

Ironic, Beckham worked his arse off to get to the level he achieved, whilst Waddle had it on a plate and became lazy and believed in his own reputation.

I hope david beckham goes bald.

He'd still look stupidly sexy:

Any man who doesn't wish he was Beckham is a liar.

Who is he? What is he?

A footballer, yes, but what else?

You don't achieve the 'status' he has by being good at football.

He is hardly an impressive speaker. Not noted for wit or wisdom. Very bland personality.

So, who is he? What is he?

He's like the Cliff Richard of football.

It fascinates me...

He's managed to be a good role model in a profession where a good number of his contempories have become horrible human beings, and he's done this while being the most famous footballer on the planet. Sure he's a bit bland, but I think young kids should be aware that you don't have to be a total prick to achieve your goals. Young lads don't have very many good role models at the moment, so I think he deserves credit for that.

Plus the difference is that Cliff Richard is an asexual weirdo, whereas I would guess many thousands of women are right this second soaking the whisker biscuit over the thought of Beckham in his pants, so I don't think he's bland from that point of view.

The Cliff Richard of football ,utter brilliance that sums him up perfectly.

Question me and the old fella are discussing now.

Who's had the better career, Giggs or Beckham? Giggs has probably won more and played for longer, but Beckham's been to world cups and also played for Milan, PSG and Madrid.

And who's been the better player?

Giggs imo to both. Beckham went to world cus but get sent off in 1 and bottled a key tackle in another. Both were influential in England getting knocked out.

Giggs could have played for any club in the world but chose not to. He is a footballer not a celebrity. Nothing against Beckham but Giggs is superior.

If you came up against both at their peaks you'd be far more worried about Giggs, remember how made up we were he wasnt fully fit in the cup final, Beckham was very good and you knew what you would get from him, but Giggs could destroy teams
