JJB don't exist any more.

Whelan sold them, they went arse up, he bought the prime ones back for a song (with healthclubs) renamed them DW and JJB went bust.
 

You have massively mis quoted him there. he did say "I've got a lot of respect for Everton, they have great fans but are not a team currently vying for Champions league, I think Roberto might go to a club who have bigger ambitions"
 

If Whelan is so intent on keeping Martinez then well maybe he could have given him a transfer kitty of oh just a bit more of the -5M/year he gets now.
 
Can someone please define what a "big club" is? Is it the fan base? Is it history? Is it a top current side? Because we seem to have all those things. The only things we don't have are 1) cash and 2) a world class stadium. In any event we are a ten times bigger club then Martinz could of ever hoped for. Dave Whelan is a stupid old fool.

seems to be money nowadays sadly
 
Indead bluenose95 its very sad, its enough to put people off the game tbh. What the point in building a team an working hard when someone with loads of cash can come along and steal all that hard work. The people involved in the game need to think about the example they are setting for kids by telling them that hard work don't really pay off.
