As I understand it, Inquiry gathers evidence for a few weeks after the date stated followed by anything between 6 and 12 months to arrive at a decision. That timeline could (probably inevitably will) be extended for months more by appeals against any decision.

Given all that, a definitive go ahead for / shelving of the project will possibly be 12-18 months down the line.
