It's being reported today that former Everton trainee Danny Fox is likely to join Burnley from Celtic. Fox only left Coventry to join the Hoops over the summer. I said at the time that he'd provide excellent cover for Baines. He's 23 years old, a specialised freekick taker and regular goalscorer.

I'm surprised that he's leaving Scotland so soon. He'd cost more than we'd be willing to pay for an understudy. I do wish him all the best though if he ends up at Turf Moor. He's a player with plenty of promise.

When Fox was playing down here in Coventry he was a steady player. He played alongside Scott Dann who was Cov's best player last season which helped. He's a good free kick taker but nothing special. One of Cov's better players but that isn't hard like. Had a bit of an attitude problem apparently.

The reason he is leaving is to give Tony Mowbray funds for new players. There are plenty of defenders at Celtic and Fox will get him the highest money to buy a few players.

Surprised at that if true, he cost them a fair few quid if I remember correctly. Hope he does well either way, wouldn't have got much playing time if he'd have stayed here so he dropped down a few levels & worked his way back up so he deserves every success he gets
