Today, Bayern Munich defender/midfielder Danijel Pranjic has revealed he was very close to joining us and was very annoyed when Bayern blocked the move.

"I had an agreement with Everton for two-and-a-half years," the 30-year-old told Sportske Novosti.

"I was ready to board a plane and I was really happy because I knew that Everton were serious and that they had big plans for me.

"But now it is all over and this is a catastrophe. I can't describe the negative feelings I have.

"Bayern wanted so much money that everybody knew that Everton would not pay.

"I'm so unhappy because I was sure that I would be leaving Bayern. I don't play and now the opportunity to play in the Premier League has gone. I'm so unhappy."

Could have been boss mates with Jelavic...shame.

Would have been back up for Baines...and is also a good penalty taker. People will argue that Drenthe is sort of a cover for Baines, but Drenthe is a clumsy barstool!

Manolas is a centre-back. I think Pranjic is a left-back. I think we will get Manolas in the summer. The deal with Manolas depended on the fee of Jelavic, which was Â£5.5million in the end. If it was Â£5million, we may have had the extra Â£500,000 to get Manolas. That is what I heard anyways.

He's a midfielder.

Correct. But he can also play left-back if needed. I know nothing about him, I just saw he was an International and played for a big club, and I was very intrigued as to what went on.

I've seen him play a few times. He's decent and a shame he won't come now.

He always wears his socks down his pads like Steve Claridge used to!

Haha, you have upset me now. All I have done is Youtube him, and saw a few penalties. One of them was brilliant, a little chip, and fooled the keeper.

Shame really, sounds like it would've been a fairly nominal fee for a winger, which would've been nice. Ahh well, got Peanuts back, hopefully for good.

Interesting that DM went for a player aged 30. Getting rid of Saha has reduced the average age of the squad by 10 years!!

It's unusual for DM to want to spend on a player with limited sell on value.

Was shocked hearing this. Read this just now, was away yesterday. What a happy day would that be for me as Croat, to see two Croats joining my favorite club at same day.

Danijel is great left back/wing player, had great spell with Heerenveen and Bayern during van Gaal's era. Now, when latter gone, Heynckes does not allow him to play. He would have been great addition to our squad.

Shame on Bavarian "giant".
