Daniel Sturridge

He always reminds me of Louis Saha to be honest. Excellent left foot, nice close control and he drops off into similar positions. Not as gifted a target man but he has that pace and acceleration that the present day Saha lacks. Also seems to suffer from the same lack of discipline which might hamper him as a lone striker. He's obviously a player who likes to drift and go looking for the ball.

He's a bit of a wild card and will have spells of inconsistency but like N'Zogbia, he's a player I'd be willing to spend our budget on if we had to, or could afford to, which will probably be the major problem. He's another forward who isn't necessarily an out and out striker, and could give us a number of options, cutting inside from the right, playing off the striker or playing as the focal point.

That's exactly what I was thinking, mate...

He's the type of player we should be looking at but i doubt Chelsea would sell for anything less than 12 mill, maybe a loan deal could happen, if we are even interested in him.

Strange days at Chelsea, new manager, new ideas, a lot of the old guard could be off for a swan song at Real, a youthful Chelsea with a genuine hunger could be a very interesting premier league animal.

If we could get him for anything under £10m, he would be a great buy. Think we would do very well for us as he is in many ways a better version of Beckford.

He was a bit of a tit at City though wasn't he? The way he got his move. Might have spent a little too long around Jo Barton in their shared city days. And he looked good at Bolton after all the other strikers had given up, Elmander was off and Davies was having sleepless nights about England caps.

isnt "being a tit at city" de rigeur nowadays?

Sturridge, and Kalou, epitomized the angst of all Chelsea fans over the depressing state of all their youngsters. Now they're finally coming through, with McAleny to boot, and their available to buy! How convenient.

Defo a gret buy, but extremely unlikely.

Though i'd love us to go for Kalou, btw. He's Chelsea's Anichebe!

What have some of you lot been smoking? Swap for Rodwell??? Really that's crazy. As for Wiki valueing him at 20m any idiot and his mother can edit that page.

I doubt Ville Boas has had time to make an ass groove into his new chair in his office at chelsea let alone go through each player and value them.

Sturridge does have alot of potential and he showed that at Bolton but lets not get carried away here.

I'm not sure where the £20m tag has come from officially, but it has circulated in pretty much all respectable footy news sources sometime last week, so it's not just wikitalk.

Though taking the market into consideration, that makes the price tag plausible. Come january when he's still without a single game, his price will probably be a bit more feasible.

Given that there's such a premium on young, English players and the promise that he showed out on loan, it would make no sense for Chelsea to sell Sturridge. Drogba is 33, Anelka is 32 and Kalou only has a year left on his contract. They should be at the front of the queue for the exit door.

Some site called fanatix are dragging the idea of him coming on loan up !!!

Sorry to dredge this up but am getting desperate for rumours !!!

Cant do link yet either. Soz.
