This case is just mind blowing on so many levels. In a country that for the most part is quite civilized its horrendous to think what happened to that poor little boy. What the parents subjected the poor little mite to is unimaginable.
What really stuns me is again in similar vein to the Baby P case, how it seems on many occasions this could have been prevented. Numerous times the parents did not take the boy to the doctors for his regular check-ups, injections etc. Also at his preschool, teachers have admitted seeing him eating food out of bins as he was so hungry and was constantly bought to school with no food so had to pinch from his classmates etc. Teachers have admitted seeing him looking so emaciated that they have called the local GP, who inturn have declared that they did not think he was at 'risk' Why at no point didnt somebody just call the police? Having been on child protection conferences i know there are lots of procedures and protocols to follow, but if that was a child at the same school as my daughter in such a bad way and i saw that i would bang on about it until i was heard.
Heads will seriously roll for this in similar circumstances to the Baby P case but its too little to late.
The cruelty and torture this poor boy suffered at the hands of the two people who should have loved him most is heartbreaking and i hope they find out what that feels like in prison, but for a society like ours i do wonder how this can happen...
