Northampton.

I have hazy memories of going to a panto at the Garrick Theatre in Southport when I was about 4 or 5 years old. (1940 ish) My Dad had something to do with the production. Don't remember much but do remember hearing what then was the funniest thing I'd ever heard. I laughed until my stomach hurt.
There were two people on the stage and one said 'what's for breakfast?' The other said 'There's no bread' The first said 'I'll have toast then'.
My sophisticated sense of humour hadn't had time to develop then!

(My Dad, who was in the Fire Service, was friendly with a Sergeant Joe Cohen from the American army and they put several shows on in aid of the Fire Service charity fund.)

ALADDIN.webp

You've got to admit that's a fantastic cast, and it's good to see the former Manchester City hardman, Mike Doyle, still finding gainful employment.
