Looks spectacular mate - always happens in anything i do that i think i've done alright at get to the top there is a pensioner doing burpees at the top.

Haha, that's inevitable mate. There was a bloke climbing the Passo Rombo at the same time as us. Reckon he must have been at least 60. Got chatting to him a bit and we rode together for a few km. Then he starts out of the saddle and giving it some. Manage to keep up for a bit before he kills me. Few corners up the road the wily old sod's sat in a cafe having an espresso  On my way down I saw him latched on to someone else giving them the same working over  Not a bad way to spend a day like :D

I have to say, that whilst it's not a particularly nice looking kit, I can't quite see what all the fuss is? Are people seriously thinking that the beige bit looks as though there's nothing there?

Gels are a bit crappy, not a huge fan, they don't give you much to work with and caffeine is somewhat debatable I find. Ok if you want a quick blast but that's about it, cereal bars, flapjack or a little carrot cake are my favs!

To be fair, it was tongue in cheek (I think) but it begs the question why it was worth appearing in a national newspaper in the first place.

daily mail is busy making sure we're kept abreast of cutting news stories.
