You and me both chrismpw. I do miss punched cards!
My first computer was a Commodore PET i bought from a junk shop. Had to write my own primitive word processor in BASIC. Twin 5 1/2" floppy drives - it was the bees knees to me. Everything i had was stored on a single 512kb disk.

Now i have a modernish laptop with a terabyte of storage which isn't enough! And the damn thing is less reliable!

What year was that Chris? I started with computers in 1967 (at work). We had an IBM Tabulator. The programs were done on 'plug boards'. In 1970 we installed an IBM 360/30 with 32K of storage. By 1975 it was operating 3 shifts, 6 days a week. The development that I remember most was when we bought a 'key/disk' system which eliminated punched cards. Apart from speeding up the input, it got rid of a load of equipment. Punched card and Verifying machines, Sorters and Collators. Today, you can get a watch with more storage than our first computer!

It was '87 - i bought to help with paperwork for teacher training. Even though it was already fairly ancient, I was the only teacher with a computer for quite a few years. For even longer many distrusted them, the ruddy Luddites.

Last night I ambled to our local village's historical society talk. The auld fella giving the lecture was clearly uncomfortable using the laptop and projector and asked for help. I looked around, none if the members moved to help and i was probably youngest in the room by 15 years. One of them was my ex boss - a headmaster from the first school i worked in and he knew i had a lot of experience with computers. "Go on Chris" he laughed.
I sloped up to the front and prodded the touch pad key and everything worked. Astonishment and heroic applause ensued! lol

Cheers ive seen neondystopia before but it doesnt really show cities just the themes (as far as i can tell). Reddit is bizarre, ive seen some threads on it asking the same as me and just nonsense replies.

Just for inspiration really on how to guide the designers but for cities its a bit tricky...

Other than billboards / lights / flying cars with the colour scheme im trying to think of anything else to add...

Have you tried SawdustPunk?

Original? The only thing which stands out is the flames coming out of the rooftops...

Ive looked at altered carbon, blade runner and ghost in the shell...

Weird no one has put a website out from this genre...

Try a Delta through Stockbridge...

Geocities is what your after
