Throw shaka, not shade.
Despite being with my missus of south London extraction for many years, she is still baffled by this concept and finds my ritual pre-match scran from the Blue Dragon a very strange business altogether.

She went to Uni in Manchester and doesn't remember it from her time there, don't think it's a particularly Merseyside thing though is it?

So, half chips, half rice, curry sauce. Is it a thing down your way? Does your chippy do it? Does you eat it? Do you have the fried rice or are you a purist?

Hmm??

Cheesy chips and curry sauce :-)

Chips first as the greasy base, curry sauce, grated cheese and then jalapeno's on top. When home, I'd add malt vinegar and squeeze ketchup into the gaps. Messy but tasty.

I can confirm in West London it definitely is not a thing.

Only thing that should go on chip shop chips is salt and vinegar. Or if you are feeling really bold onion juice.
