The pogues - the band played waltzing matilda one example of music
Much prefer The Dubliners version, but either way it's a fantastic song that provides a lot of emotion.

"And when I awoke in me hospital bed, and saw what it had done, I wished I was dead... I never knew there was worse things than dying."

For me, it's always...

The only reason it's the Pogues version for me is because that's the version I first heard and thus was how I was introduced to the song. I much prefer the Dubliners as a band and will check out the version you've suggested.

I always listen to it around remembrance day and see old fellas in full suits with their medals walking to places to pay their respects. "And the young people asked me, what are they marching for, and I asked myself the same question...and year after year, their numbers get fewer, someday no one will march there at all." It reminds you of the magnitude of the sacrifice and of how little it all achieved and I think that's deeply sad.

I'm only just getting into classical music but I like some of Elgar, I had no idea it was used in relation to Remembrance Sunday. Very moving.

Cried laughing at someone's ugly kid on Facebook a couple of years ago, the more I looked at it's little potato shaped head the more I laughed. It was one of them belly laughs with streams of tears coming down my face and I couldn't stop it at all, lasted about 5 min.

Luckily, he's grown into his head now and looks a lot better in a recent photo.

Sorry but unless it's a death of someone close to you then men look like absolute bellends when they cry and you all know it. No exceptions either.
